Sue em' in small claims court for the damages.  You might get lucky and get called by someone like Judge Joe Brown.  If you (and the other party) agree to go on there, they usually give you cash to appear, and if you get a judgement they will usually pay it out, and go after the other person for the cash.  Either that, or I believe you can also have a collection agency do the work.

Generally, the judge has discretion to impose restitution to be paid by the guilty defendant to the victim.  If you want to see any restitution, track their case and watch for plea arrangements.  If it goes to trial, you'll likely be called as a witness, and if there is a guilty verdict, then you can put your $0.02 in during sentencing.

Sorry to hear this had to happen to you, let alone anyone.  With all them damm thieves we must make sure our target vehicles have some kind of safeguard protection in someway.  Hope you have something in place that will deter thieves next time.  I can share with you some of my ideas from my vehicle.  I'm sure some of the other Toyota Fellas here will share their ideas too.  Just glade you've got it back in better shape.

Right on the money Mike...Yea I'm suppose to be getting the chp report soon, and the officers said it would be then I could look into suing or try to get restitution to help pay for the damages to my truck and property loss. From what i hear though, Ill never see restitution from these guys! Any insight on this kinda matter fellas? What can/should I do?

Its hard to say.  I know of two cases that won small claims decisions that never seen a dime change hands.  I've also had my car vandalized by a scumbag and awarded restitution.  I got the payments regularly till it was paid up but the state will pinch any money that gets flowed to him while he's in the slammer and intercept any tax refunds, court awarded settlements, disability settlements, ssi etc..that  he may get down the line.  Might be nickel and dime for a long time then one day ten years down the road you'll get a check.  Would be worth it to snap some pics and get a few estimates for the damage then forward them to the D.A.

What did your insurance company say?
