I'm looking for any advice on wetsuits to go with for kayak fishing. Also, I've used a fish bag for my catch in the past, any other thoughts on where to put your catch? Am wondering if it acts as chum for sea lions or sharks out there?

Thanks!

most folks like the farmer johns offered by NRS.
I personally wear a pair of wetsuit pants, and pair them with a neoprene tank or shirt, depending on the temperature. Mysterioso under layers.

As for the fish, I use a burlap coffee sack to keep the fish out of the sun. get it wet, and it cools them fine. once ashore I get them on ice ASAP.

I do not hang fish over the side. If you can stow your catch in a hatch you are golden. On my T140 i can't easily reach the front hatch, so I've gone with the burlap.

Farmer John (with relief zipper :smt002)
Splash Top/jacket
I go with the burlap bag also,I don't like to let my catch dangle in the water to become bait for fur bags or whitey :smt002

Happy with my NRS Farmer John.  Wear a wicking mock-turtle neck, splash jacket and 5mm boots to round out the kit.

NRS is having a pretty decent clearance sale right now.  3m farmer john for $80 and 2.5m for $71.   Just
type NRS in your search engine.  Of course you can't try em on but, I think they have a good service dept. for returns,etc...

^ Yep.  Scratch ACK - I bought mine (same as link below) from ACK for $90 a few months back.  Good to see the deal is still on at NRS.  I have this suit - great suit!

They do have the $80 one also, but I didn't like all the grey stitching.  So, tossed in an extra $10 for the one that had all black stitching.  Gotta look your best while OTW  :smt002

I've owned both the NRS and Kokatat FJ 3 mil.  I personally prefer my Kokatat.  It has a softer material and lighter in weight.  Just feels more comfortable.

I've found the NRS a bit stiffer and has extra padding that I don't really need.  I am not sitting or kneeling around rocks the whole day.  If I were to buy another wetsuit it will be a Kokatat.  Although the NRS price is too good to pass.

No advice on the wetsuit because I don't use em. I like drysuits but as far as the fish go I take a large $7 trader joes soft sided cooler and add about 5# of ice. This goes in the front hatch. When I catch a keeper after I tame it I pull a few gill rakes and let the fish bleed out briefly. Then all the guts and gills come out and I place the fish in the cooler with the head and stomach full of ice. Ling Cod over 23" tend to bend a little so I place them headfirst into the bag and leave the tail hanging out. If the ice is feeling slushy when I pull out, I drain the liquid and buy a few bags on the way home.

23" Ling C ready to be filleted.

Different fish notice the cooler in the front hatch. It's a P13 and I fit drybag, extra paddle and two rigged rods in the hatch w/ the cooler if need be.

For frying fish you won't likely notice a difference between bled/iced fish and sack fish but I only fry my lings. My typical RF are grilled/baked or made into very good quality sushi.
