I have a Kokatat Angler drysuit on order from Dan at Headwaters Kayak, I will be using this drysuit in a Hobie Pro Angler (pedal, not paddle).  Any suggestions what to use for footgear?  I will be mostly in lakes with sandy/rocky shores to put in and out of, might also be using the drysuit while fishing rocky streams and rivers.

Those boots aren't overkill - I wear a giant pair of Bogs over my drysuit and love it.  I can't say how they'd be for pedaling though...

Do you need something insulated for the cold? My friend Dennis just bought a pair of these and Ive had a pair for awhile now and I love them. During the summer months I go back to a Keen water shoe and in the winter ..................... this

These are still on sale at Clavey Paddlesports in Petaluma ask for Tom 707-766-8070 15% off for NCKA

that might be an idea, the last day I fished a high country lake last fall the water temps were 42 degrees and ambient temps were in the low to mid 20's

I've been using my Teva sandals about two size larger with my dry suit and tempest pants. As long as I wear some thick socks like wool, I've been fine even in cold weather. Good luck.

If you can pedal with the wading boots then go for it.  My size 13's are just too big so I use Stohlquist caveman booties with the Mysterioso socks or Thorlo socks inside the suit.  If I'm going to walk around I have a pair of hard soled water shoes-old tennis shoes would work just as well.   Wish I could use my wading boots as they are the most comfortable.

Dolphin Scuba in Sacramento has these for $19.97. I have a pair that I use just for kayaking and they work really well with my kokatat dry pants. Plus you can't beat the price!

I prefer neoprene booties in cold temps and Crocs type sandals for warmer weather.  Knock-off Crocs usually cost less than $10 a pair.

how are you guys that use sandals dealing with gravel and sand that gets in between the sandal and bottom of the drysuit, that can't be good for the drysuit.
