Need help just got my girl home!!!  Beautiful heathly OK T-13.  I have a ladder rack on my F-150 but did not like how she rode home in it.  Want to either put a cradle (Kayak rests on its bottom) or a J-Style (Kayak rests on it side) carrier on the ladder rack.   Need help with which way it is better for her to ride on her bottom or her side??????

I think the last time this issue got discussed most people with a rack still prefer topside down, of course that depends on where the crossbars hit and in my case I have to carry the yak stern forward because if it's bow forward  it just touches the top of the cab.  You could add some padding on the rack bars.  As for saddles n stuff, I'm sure others will chime in.

Congrats on the new addition to the fleet.

I use the Thule Xsporter Rack and its great. I will actually be posting a small review on it on www.headwatersfishing.blogspot.com keep an eye out for it. The rack allows for plenty of storage in the truck and can hold at least three kayaks on it.

+1, I sold my saddles, rollers and J-racks because I'm one that just prefers it upside down.  I purchased all the fancy stuff when I first got into the sport and now realize it wasn't necessary.  In fact, in some cases,it  can cause damage.

+1 Thule XSporter 422XT  (this is Shilo's rig; toting 2 OK T13's).

Loading is a breeze; place the bottom of the yak on the bar - slide it up, then rotate it over.  Strap through the scuppers and onto the bars.
