This happened to me......I lost my damn mind.......again.......

......within the last month I bought two more boats.......a Prowler 15 and this ......






So apparently, when you're in the middle of a boat project that turns into a bigger boat project, then a way bigger project, the right thing to do is buy more boats to keep you busy on the days you're neck deep in fiberglass dust. I was on the fence about whether or not I should repower another small boat I have or pick something up from craigs to beat around on. Every one of the whalers in my price range were kind of beat and 2 stroke powered, I was a couple days away from pullin the cash for the new 25hp engine and this popped up.  4 stroke zuke with 260 hours on the clock.....hull is a 40 year old nauset in decent shape.  I knew this thing would go fast so I was on the phone and driving to the delta before another day passed. Gave the engine the once over, test drive, hull and trailer inspection, power washed, struck a stellar deal  and I drove it home.       

There will be blood.

I think the next thing you need is an extra mechanic to fix these purchases......I've been waiting for my boat ride to Ano Nuevo for several years now 

I like the boat.  I have a friend over in HMB has an orginal Whaler (built in the North East before Whaler went to Florida).  That boat is his pride and joy.

It is a disease called boatus hydromobilia... Symptoms include mad dashes to water to throw cash in.  I'm not only infected but I started a self help group (makes it easier to swoop in on deals others might have seem before me) Enjoy the new toy!!!!

Actually, I'm slowly trying to get in shape for some dive expeditions. Get that  mothership fixed so we can go NOW......before Big Jim cleans out the Monterey Area

Actually, I'm slowly trying to get in shape for some dive expeditions. Get that  mothership fixed so we can go NOW......before Big Jim cleans out the Monterey Area 

I'm estimating the big girl will be about 1.5 to 2 years out....complete gutting, engine out, cap off.  Eliminiation of all wood....stringers, transom and decks.  In with composites, new gel-coat  raised self bailing decks and in hull storage.  Also flirting with a pilot house.  It will be slow but done right with no rush (since I have this boat to play on).  If you want to get in shape I have plenty of lifting, sanding and fairing for you to do. 

I won't be pushing its limits chasing albi's (unless they come in crazy close to monte) or trying to haul yaks and extra passngers but its turn key....we can dive it now.

Bad ASS, dude.  That's exactly what I wanted before discovering kayaks.  16 foot?  That thing is wicked.  I'll buy gas for the Ano trip.
