Two blocks of foam - to cradle my new kayak on top my '89 Civic.
Two 15ft. lengths of strap - to run through scupper holes down into/through the car doors.
Two lengths of rope - hooked to front/rear bumper, up and around kayak, back down to bumper.

The rig was put to use this morning, when I picked up my new Prowler 13.  With everything nice and snug, it was pretty impressive how well everything stayed put.  Be sure and peep the sweet new dent in the roof of the car.  It looks right at home with the three hub caps and flaky paint :smt003

Made the trip from the coast back to the O with no problem.  Quick to set up, too.

Nate, nice meeting you today.  I am glad you got back safe with no problems.  It would have been a good day to test drive you Prowler at Linda Mar.  It was perfect out there.  Good luck and I can't wait to see you on the water.
