I have a Huminbird 570 di.
On cold mornings I have noticed that as the sun comes out and warms things up a bit I get major fogging onthe inside ofthe FF. Especially when the sun is directly onthe screen.
I have not used it that often and it has never been dunked.
Anyone else experience this with their FF when the air temps start out very cold and then the sun starts to warm things up a bit?

Mine does that too. I figured at some time there had to be some moisture in it. It clears up when it warms up. What I need to do is take the cover off where the sd card goes and let it air out. I just always forget to do it.

I get a bit of that also Tote during use in the winter. I keep mine on the mantle over the alleged cancer causing woodstove that us that live in the bay area use to pollute the entire world, hence the burn ban on certain days. Oops off track here. Bay Area Air Quality sucks though.

My Humminbird 565 does it but its only on really cold mornings. I just look at it as mother natures way of giving the power boaters a fighting chance. :smt044

Ignore manufacturers warning..... Open ff, insert silica gel packet, button it back up.

Cold mornings and Bright Sun = Foggy display for me as well.  Hasn't affected the FF yet, and I can see fine, so haven't worried about it.  But was thinking of sticking it in a bucket with rice and an air tight lid to see if it will draw the moisture out of it.

That's a good idea!  When my dad and I used to fish the bay on his Larson he would take it apart every once in awhile and spit or spray that fog free mask spray in. Only lasted a few days or so but that's all we needed.

Think I might try the silicone packet cause I've had this problem before too, seems like a good long term fix.
