"Welcome to the 2012 Bay Area Paddlefest! Come paddle a range of the newest stand up paddleboards, kayaks and canoes from leading paddlesports manufacturers. Try out the latest gear, take a class, meet other Bay Area paddlers and have your questions answered by the pros. Bring the whole family and stay for the day - there's something for everyone!"

They gave free hot dogs and sodas last year.

How does ChuckE on a SUP relate to the Bay Area Paddlefest?
They've done/do a terrible job of advertising this event to the non-paddling community.....and then they use a picture of a TrueLifeFishCatcher on a SUP for this year = I LOVE IT!!

Congrats to Chuck!! he is the nicest guy there every year! :smt002

I hate to say it, but I was rather disappointed with the Paddlefest last year.  It is but a shell of it's former self.  I think the only fishing kayaks shown were Hobie and Santa Cruz.  Honestly, if you're out to try some kayaks or gear,  you'll have a better experience as the Berry Slam just walking around and asking fellow NCKA'ers.

I am hoping to see the RTM line and the Ocean Kayak Ultra series.  PolePole is correct that last year there was a poor selection of fishing yaks.

Had a blast when ChuckE took me for a test drive on the tandem AI last year.  I remember the conditions were extremely windy.  I test paddled a bunch of models and the Tarpon 16 stood out best under those conditions.

Eric / Yakhopper has one. I'm sure he'll have it with him on the next event. Monterey Bay Kayak also has one in their demo fleet.

Hey guys. I will be at Bay Area Paddlefest this weekend with the full line of Jackson Fishing Kayaks including e new Big Tuna! We will also have the Rtm Abaco, and K Largo on the beach for everyone to paddle. Hopefully a few of you guys can make it it. I know a lot of people have been wanting to paddle the Abaco, so here would be a good chance.

I'll be working at the Hobie area on Sunday.  We should have the whole line including the Hobie Adventure Island and the Tandem Island.  I hope it's windy. :smt003

Anybody else going to the Paddlefest beside me and Paddleboy?

Please stop by and visit.

I'll probably be there Sunday.

They really outta put a few fliers up, or something, (at Quarry, or nearby downtown Niles, at least).  I live two miles away and had no idea til Chuck mentioned it yesterday.
