I was fortunate enough to receive a free pair of Maui Jim sunglasses from a company I do business with.  The company allowed me to pick the style and then ordered them for me.  What a great deal!

One of the great things about Maui Jim is they custom make prescription lenses in their lab for their frames.  The process took a while but I have to say that they are the best sunglasses I have ever owned.  The lenses are so clear and allow for such clean sight.  I have had tons of prescription glasses over the years, but this is a huge improvement over anything from lenscrafters or any other company I have used.  The frames were free and the lenses were an additional $400.  This is pretty pricey but did not cost me more than my normal pair because the frames were free.

Yea Maui Jim are pricey. I use Ocean waves and Costa del mar's both are clear but I choose to use glass instead of plastic more durable I think. Both around 350.00 mark for Rx.

One of the best pair of outdoor sunglasses I have ever had are a pair of safety glasses that have a drop in Rx frame.  I can change outer lens if they get scratched, or want to go shooting or something.  Very user friendly, just not as high in the style department.

Dont get too used to them.  If u yakfish long enough or hard enough u will dump boat and ur specs is going swimming. Happens to everyone, so bring a spare pair if u need em to drive home.

Before my laser corrective surgery i alwqys packed a spare set of contacts in the event of catastrophic ass over tea kettle yard sale. It will happen

I was going to get LASIK this month! The babies won't leave my glasses alone so I thought it was time.  On the pre surgery visit they said I may have forme fruste keratonconus making LASIK out of the question at this point.   Super bummed on that.  Next week I have an appt in the city with a specialist.

If I do lose these glasses, there should be a great story to go with it.  The company also included logo croakies to go with it.  If I lose them, it will have been a major wipe out.

I have spare sets of glasses everywhere at this point.  All the old scratched and bent ones.

I can't wear contacts, am about blind without my specs, so I'm very careful about my glasses. Didn't realize how careful until I started to write this post. Like obsessive/compulsive:
I use the kind of keeper that has a very tight fitting rubber loops on the end, or one that looks like a mini-noose with  slider deals that makes the nooses snug, and a slider to snug the cord up to my head.   Croakies aren't as good, but the next best thing so long as the earpieces of the glasses are thick enough to stay in snugly - you can sew it tighter, and I shove the croakie way up the earpiece.
And then I add what I learned to use when windsurfing with glasses (sturdy retro plastic frame ones worked best, sometimes I'd put a band of glue where the glass met the plastic to keep the lenses from falling out!) - a strong string fixed loop that barely fits over my head with a tail end that gets tied to the glasses keeper, so that it's almost impossible for me to lose the glasses even if they get washed off my face.   And since I have to carry regular glasses as well as sunglasses, I have a canvas covered hard case that is strapped to my life jacket that has a top that is closed with a male-female clip like on back packs - no way to lose them so long as I remember to snap the clips together.
The moment of truth comes when I need to change glasses - focus on that one job, do it as quickly as possible, and have each pair set up with it's own keeper and loop.
It also helps to make sure the glasses are really clean before going out - baby shampoo works real well, tho auto 20-20 cleaner is good too  - this helps keep them fog free, but sometimes I have to stop paddling and pull them away from my face to keep them from fogging up, or rinse with a little salt water, or if they're real fog prone, fresh water or spit or whatever.
When I'm cleaning up, I always rinse the glasses well and right away, especially the hinges, because the salt can eventually eat any kind of metal up.
When I go surfing, I use some thick goggles I got from Murray's Marine in So Cal - Barz is the brand, they come with two sets of gaskets, one with holes in them to let the water rinse thru, and one without.  I like the rinsing ones, because they get fogged too fast otherwise no matter how clean.  And I clean the insides with baby shampoo and polish the outsides with liquid furniture polish to keep the droplets from adhering.
But recently, I got some Rx swim goggles for $15. from Amazon - Tyr brand- you just get a rough correction, but it's plenty good enough to see the clock to see how long I've been swimming.  I'm tempted to use them for fishing, they are smoked dark, so I would be able to see except at night.  I just don't know how comfortable they'd be to wear all day, and altho they are pretty fog free, I don't know if that would be true after 30 mins or so of wear, and if you're a nearsighted old fart like me, and need bifocals, you'd be taking them off to see to tie knots.
And I always keep a good pair of glasses in the car to wear to drive to and from,  so I don't have to clean  the salt and sunblock off  the ones I use on the water, and in case I lose them.
I hope this helps spare my near-blind kayak fishing friends some trial and error and some grief.  It would be a booger to have to go through all of this just to be able to see- if I wasn't so used to it.
