Conditions turned out better today than forecast at the cove.  Heard there was a good bite today, not many boats out but sounds like most if not all got their limits of salmon 12 to 20# range.

NOTE: Almost always best gas prices north of Santa Rosa are in Willits at Safeway (on right heading north).  It's not far north past Ukiah.  Heading out of Shelter Cove I always top off there as well as on the way back to the cove.  Sometimes near .50 per gallon cheaper.

I talked to one of the tractor drivers and sounds like they are not expecting to start launching till around 7AM Saturday so I'd shoot to be in the water before 7AM and avoid the circus.

Thanks for the word, Dan!   :smt001

Okay, so what are they using for salmon over there?  Flashers and hoochies or mooching?

Mostly deepm sixs or downriggers running a dodger or flasher with anchovie or hoochie.  Also a deep six and a 4.5" black and white or watermelon apex.  All those will work.  Dont hesitate to mooch since you can get a salmon, rockfish, or possibly a halibut.

Today I heard one of the boats that limited only used black and white and green and silver apexes with no flasher, no dodger for limits.  I expect Brads cut plugs (plastic) would also be interchangeable.   If slow trolling (yak style) a cut plug herring (real not plastic) is most dependable and no flasher/dodger needed just keep checking your bait often.

Great advice and info, Dan.  Read it, Guys!   :smt001

Continue preparing and meditating on good energy to come.  Be safe, everyone, on the road!  Take your time, get there in one piece.   :smt001

Don't forget to hit up the tournament check-in and safety meeting at the ramp Friday at 5 until at least 6PM.  Get your shirt/tackle/rule sheet/other stuff or you may not get it until Saturday night.  I will do rounds to find those who arrive a little later Friday.  Thx

Don't forget to help spread the word among our fellow participants that we need to stage right up next to the breakwater vs anywhere in the greater ramp area.

Don't forget that launching anywhere but right up against the breakwater is risking a yard sale unnecessarily.

Thx   :smt001

Well my client is a greedy Bitch and cancelled a sale of a house, so She is waiting to sell later for more.
after working on a sale for the last 4-5 months my client ( now previous client) would not give a guy serving in the Navy in the middle of the gulf a couple of days extension and killed the deal. what a bitch.
Poor guy gave notice at his apartment. too bad his Real Estate agent was so incompetent that did not have him sign the extension that I asked her for.
Now he has no house, I lost 5k in commission and NO SHELTER COVE FOR ME.
I will ask Jedmo to please get my shirt and stuff so I can pick it up here in Vallejo.
You guys have fun.
I hope to find a place for Albion.
