I picked up a Left Handed Penn Squidder 146 a year or so a go and decided to upgrade it following Alan Tani's tutorial.  I ran into a snag I am hoping some one can help me with.  On onee slide he shows using what appears to be a small #0 or #1 bent over straight tip screwdriver for removing the bearing on the crank side.  Try as might I cannot get that damn bearing out, does anyone have a screwdriver fashioned like that I could borrow for a few minutes to get that thing out?  Or does anyone have a suggestion for removing it?

Thanks

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

$0.88 scredriver at Home Depot. Heat it up with a torch, stick it in a vice and bend it the way you want.
I've done this before with a phillips to access one screw on a Chevy Luv (WAY back in the day) and it worked like a charm. I think I still have it.

I have used both cheap and good automotive pics to no avail.  This bugger is in there.  I got a screwdriver, I plan on grinding to the right width, then take it to the stove to see if I can get it cherry red then in the vise it goes.  May work, may not.

I used the wire from a binder clip in a pair of vice grips... straighten it out and put a sharp bend in one end. Then just shoot it with some wd-40 then work the hook around in a spiral type pulling motion. Hopefully that will help!

I use a paint can opener. It's a little tool with a bottle opener on one end and what looks like a bent over screwdriver on the other. When your pulling on the bearing you can use the bottle opener to get more leverage. Find this tool in the paint dept at your local hardware.
