Diver of the Year 2012: DOTY

More yard sales than fish this year but I'm in. Any categories for most lost gear?

Though i'm no diver, i'm still gonna say crabs sound like they suck for this competition    You should focus on fish where the point ranges are at least worthy of competition.  A legal dungie at 5 3/4 only gets as big as 8 inches from what i've seen.  Is this forager of the year, or diver of the year?  Stick to the fish is my opinion   

I set up a "2012 DOTY" sub-board of the diving board and moved this here.  It's currently set up such than only members with >10 posts can access, the though being your submissions could be more private.  Let me know if that is something you don't want.

I changed the boars back to being completely open for the time being.  We don't have access restrictions on AOTY, so I'm not sure why we would here.

I hear ya Al, but diving to me is a combination of hunting and gathering...a fat dungie would be more of a challenge to get diving IMO than an 8-9 inch abalone in a lot of areas, but a lot of guys are REALLY into diving for abalone....

My gut feeling is to try to be as inclusive as possible (within reason)....I've dove for crabs once and it was hard chasing the boogers! If some guys are into that and want to use a dungie as one of their top ten entries I don't see the downside?

Oh Deo', if I had hear from Joe Tobin about you getting WSB then I'm guessing this little competition is really gonna make me persona non grata huh? 

    Come on Nate.  You and I both know that you don't shoot anything under 50.  Besides, all the seabass are in like 120 feet of water with tons of red tide and jelly fish and sharks.  I'm over it.

I'm glad the smack talk portion of this comp is taking off.  I'm gonna shoot fuzz even if the dude is no trphy, dive less than nate and still get a higher score, follow wilderness hunter in the surf and score some free gear, dive with the over 55 crowd so I can take advanatge of their senior citizen discounts, complain to rick about Jims crappy trough measuring pics with the open mouth....then cry about crawdads not being on the species list, and submit all my entries via watercolor like amadeo.....any size measurements and scale are completely at the artists discression. 


edit....I'm just gonna keep adding smack as I see fit....

I'm gonna film my exploits and play them for the masses to techno trance beats like Chuck....

And.....that the dead sea used to be called the sea of life.....then nate visited and....well.....you get the picture.
