Hope we all know we are just ribbing.
Well said Eric. I remember when the AOTY was fun and friendly.

Oh, but it still IS!
I agree sometimes we get over-analytical about the seemingly insignificant minutiae.

BUT...I'm having a ton of fun competing with AND against my best buds! My goal is to finish ahead of Dan and Al = my Ahull brothers. And all the rest of my fellow scumbags too (-:

I have complete confidence in the mods and their decisions.
If a fish is accepted than who are we to argue. If we don't like the game, than don't play.
Oh Yah,
When I win, I plan on donating the "Hobie" to next years P.I.F.

I wonder what the record is for highest scoring fish in AOTY history?
Because some dude jus caught a 232pt fish!!! Not me--I'm at work. And sick. But it sure is motivation to get out there asap!

I think it's this Halibut caught by Matanaska (233.75 points):

Then this Sturgeon (231 points):

Using the pictures posted, how can you determine if it is Pacific or California? Whether eyes are on left or right side?

Never mind...just saw more pictures.

I think there are 3 Pac-butts from past years that are still listed under the Cal-Butt category (Rob-2011; Eric-2011, Domenic -2009).  This is the first year there are separate categories for each species. In past years both species were entered into the same category. Just looks like those 3 Pac-Butts from past years were not transferred into the new Pac-Butt category when it was started this year.

Allen Leepin's steelhead was valued at 232.75. The point value for steelhead has been lowered but at that time thats what the score was. So its still the most points for one fish in AOTY history. Those older point values should be posted right. Might not be possible though.
