i just quit eating white sugar......no more in my coffee. there are enough sweetners in everything "the man" makes already. :smt013
i was about to get some of that Agave sweetner(jonesy/Glyn) shared some with me, then i just decided to "like" my coffee, like i like my men. :smt003
I have also stopped eating lettuce, replacing it with iron-loaded BabySpinach.

Aight, a bit more:

Agave, honey, HFCS are all high in fructose.  My particular problem is an inability to properly digest fructose (among a host of other foods, ugh).  Sucrose and glucose are fine.  That leaves cane sugar and 100% maple syrup as my primary sweeteners.  Another very very sweet trick is to add dextrose (corn sugar) to high fructose foods.  Dextrose and fructose bond at a 1:1 ratio creating an easily digestible sugar compound.

As for nutrient rich foods to add to your diet, it is hard to beat spinach and quinoa.

Quinoa's the s@#$! Red quinoa if you can find it.
2 water to 1 quinoa, add some salt and apple cider vinegar and a diced tomato, bring to a boil, then simmer til done. Melt in some coconut oil and mix in arugula and feta cheese and you've got yourself a fine meal. Serve with seared halibut if available!
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

I've been using stevia in my beverages since I figured out that having a lot of  Splenda (sucralose) was triggering migraines where part of my vision was missing or flashing (scary the first time), then a dull headache.  Trader Joes has the best deal on stevia - I think it's in the vitamin aisle.

Having worked as a refinery operator making HFCS  for three years...     I now look at the ingredients  to be sure there's no fructose in my food.

Stick with honey.   That's about as organic as a sweetener can get.

  Agave is for Tequila :smt003

Sorry to break your heart, most non locally grown honey is really nothing more than sugar water. There was a report on that as well recently.  I will look for a link.
