12.04.11 (SUNDAY)  Left the house at 5am with ccup to SWS.  Saw BigJim and Cnew at the launch.  They told us where they were headed and jetted.  We get our gear together and start to head out in that direction, 1/2 there ccup and I are too pooped to paddle, so we just jump in.

Outside temp on the way to SWS was 37 degrees outside, brrrrr... water temp was 50.  Where we stopped, the bottom was 50'.  We started diving 40-43' and was trying to warmup our breath holds.  Vis was a kicking 35+, it was emmaculate.  After 40 ft, there was a thermocline, I was actually chilled by the temp, I could feel the cold on my bones.

We were surrounded by many school of blues... I took advantage!  Later we moved to 2 other locations trying to find lings, cabs, mfpb... but no luck.  Did run into a leopard shark and some jellies.  Saw 3 dive boats out there, making for company.
I love this winter wonderland!!!  Can't wait to go again.

I had a good 35mins of footage, but had to cut it down to like 7mins... thanks ccup for shooting the second half.

Just to let you know, we are people... and even though our videos reflect us always hitting our target... this is the stuff I edit out ALL the time... ccup and I planned on just keeping it on FA site, but I thought you guys would get a kick out of it.. watch in hd ;)

What a blast! Excellent vid, Chaeki! I gotta say...I took some good video for my first time with a gopro! The shot I took while upside down at the bottom watching you dive was awesome. I also liked the part where I harass the kelpie hiding in the kelp stalks.  This is one of my favorite vids! I had fun getting all artistic with that thing! I need to get one...  BTW, you didn't include the part where I took (and missed) two shots on the same olive  :smt044

Sweet! Those conditions look awesome! Glad to see your Rob Allen is working for you. Noticeably more accurate and powerful than your Biller.

I got the gun from the end of the year sale at the freediveshop.. got the RA70, same as what ccup uses.  Its hell of a lot lighter than my wooden gun... it took about 3-4 shots to adjust.. but after that it was dinner time.  LOL

If any of you read this... this week is definite the week to get out into the ocean.  STELLAR!!@!@!

Wow, nice video and music.  I am putting the crab pots away to get you RF before the season closes.  I thoroughly enjoyed your production.

Nice shooting! Those blues look like they are pretty far away but you seem to have no problem sniping them left and right.

Another stellar video Chaeki.(and ccup too!!)  Love it when there are so many fish around.  Looks like things are starting to clean up around Monterey.  Can't wait to get out there Thursday.  Keep the videos coming,  motivates us all to get out there.

Just wondering, did you not want to shoot the Leopard Shark? Or could you not get a shot off? It looked legal. I don't know what I would have done! Just wondering, thanks again for putting that up, great video!

ccup had the gopro, and when he came up, he mentioned...." damn I should of shot it " LOL   Its one of those, hmm should I shoot it and if I do... will it take off with my speargun.. LOL

And for the rest of you... please take advantage of the stellar vis and weather.... its isn't always get get to go out and see everything from the top.  Paddling out you can see fish as deep as 30 and tell what kind of fish it is.

Nice seeing you guys again. Hope to hit the water with both of you soon. The water temp did make we wonder what a 7 mil might feel like.
