We lost power sometime after noon on Wed while I was visiting with family (grandma passed away that day) and we haven't seen it be restored yet.  Going on two days with no power, hot water, and only our BBQ and fireplace to heat and cook with.  Hummmmmm Its like camping!!!  :smt044

The sound at night was the crazy part to me...  You would hear nothing for a few mins, then hear the gusts start and the shower of leaves and small branches falling was like hearing it rain and hail outside.  With the occasional limb falling and hitting the roof or the side of the house waking us up, its been a rough time sleeping through the storm.  Those redwood trees (like the one growing through our deck) shed some serious limbs!!!  Was scary just going outside while it was blowing so hard!  Redwood leaves cover EVERYTHING you see now, including most of the river  :smt005

At least now we have enough kindling to last till January  :smt044

Hope the power comes back soon though...  :smt002

Could really use a shower  :smt003

Wow I thought it was windy in Marina yesterday! Looks like a gentle breeze after seeing some of that carnage though.
The wind blew the spark arrestor off the chimney, but fortunately it didn't roll all the way down the roof because it would've crashed right on top of our Mustang in the driveway. I scurried up there and brought it down, but haven't replaced it yet. We never use the chimney anyways--do I need to put it back on there?

Here are the pics of the all the stuff the fell during the storm.  Glad no big trees or branches hit our cars or anything we would need to replace.  Still have to inspect the roof though...

Sure enough, I had a section of fence fall over.  It fell as a complete section, but of course just as I put it back into place and took the first swing with a hammer the section fell apart like a cartoon.

Bought a new section at Home Depot, pre-built, and almost killed myself loading it when the wind whipped up again!

Our power was on Saturday morning  when wife got up around 0630.  I was laying in bed thinking about how much longer we'd have to run our generator.  It being a new generator, I was able to figure out run times.  It ran tank down to just about half after 7hrs.  TV, cable box, and lamp draw about 400watts, Fridge, no idea, guess 900 when it starts up? (It's a new side-by side) generator is 7500 (peak 9500) laptop, & desktop together maybe 600Watts? So, aprox 1900 watts continuous use for 7hr dropped tank to half.  I know now I can run up to 13hrs with out checking tank. Won't but could.
My new front door awning took a branch through it, (See picture) repaired that yesterday,   My lower yard is still pretty thick with duff & limbs, (Huge branches)   Wife's carport cover took some damage as well.  I was surprised to find it still in place, and not on our neighbors cabin!

Was glad power was back, really didn't want to break out the camp shower!
