Aren't most of the "guests" phishing programs, or something like that?

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

We've been getting hit hard by Baidu spiders lately.  I tried to shut them out, but they are ignoring it.  I used the same techniques at NWKA and was successful in shutting them out there, but for whatever reason Baidu wants to see what we have to say here at NCKA.

Wonder where they are coming from?  China?  Are they able to see our PM's?

Baidu is a Chinese search company.

Don't worry, they are not able to see private stuff, only what the general public can see.

I got the 32/blaster.worm on my office computer yesterday from viewing this site. That is twice I got a virus or worm from NCKA.

How do you know it is from this site?  NCKA is scanned regularly.  There have not been any worms/viruses found on this site lately.

Sorry!  I'll stop posting Public Fishing Reports!   :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

Seriuosly though, Polepole gets around, but I've never caught a virus from him!   :smt008

Thanks, Allen, for running a kickass site that bots and spiders would want to attack and paddling comedians return to even if they think they got a Social-networking Transmitted Disease (of the processor) here.   :smt001

Well, this seems like a great time to make my first post! Hi everyone! My name is Rob and I am an addict. I started fishing as an adult a few months ago and haven't looked back. I think I first found this site by doing a google search for "Brisbane Tubes." I had been tipped off to the hot striper fishing there from a fellow shore fisherman. Needless to say, I found this awesome community of really knowledgable and friendly folks =) I kept seeing you guys on your yaks this week while I was crab snaring on the HMB Jetty. I wanted to wave and yell out "NCKA!! I am saving up to be out there with you!!"

So, I have not joined yet because I don't have a kayak. I know that probably sounds silly, but I feel like I am not part of the club yet. Although, I am about 95% sure a kayak purchase will be in my near future. I had been looking at used boats on craigslist and getting discouraged. I don't even have a trailer hitch on my car. So, trying to purchase a motor boat would have been a huge investment. Also, I used to love sufing and the SOT kayak seems to just be a modified surf board. I am falling in love with the idea of it all. Now, I am planning on renting a few models from Aquan sports and if all goes well making a purchase before next years models come out. I'll probably head over the the "Choosing a Kayak" section and make a post to get some advice before purchasing.

Regarding all the other guests and spiders, it is bittersweet. Of couse more people means more people out there fishing. C'est la vie. But, it will also mean more ad revenue for the website owners and more people out there supporting kayak manufactures. It certainly is nothing to worry about. The hackers/phishers you need to worry about are the ones that you don't see =O

Anyways, looking forward to getting to know you all here and I am really looking forward to meeting some of y'all in the water!
