I was on the water 5 min when I passed Matt (bummer u had 2 go) and then paddled up on Ricci fighting a big salmon!!

So we talked about his net size, line weight and potential for loss.  Ricci ended up playing it for about 20 min on light line before we tried to tail it, but the tail was too fat!!  so another 20 min of fighting goes by and when the fish was landed, I would say that it made a good day for someone!!!  :smt003

and my cat  :)

dude, wat an Epic Day yesterday was...And wat a comeback to our winter striper waters! :smt007....Totally focused on catching some stripers, i begin my trolling right at the lake W. bridge and just as I past the 1st barge I get hit...Thinking this is a striper of course, im halfway excited reeling it in. Then the beast shows itself and the fight really begins! I THOUGHT I WAS DONE WITH SALMON!...That freakin fish had heart. Fish hit a luckycraft pointer 100ft behind the yak on 10lb. test on med. bass outfit! 20MINS LATER AND WITH THE HELP OF JIM(THANKS JIM) IT WAS LANDED. WOW, THAT WAS FUN! This Buck is my Biggest and hopefully my last salmon of the season! The tail was easily 7ins. over my hawg trough so we guessed 37, 38ins....Matt even got the first 6mins of the fight on the gopro and its funny as hell...They really bumped up the harassing at the port this year fellas...I could tell its gonna be fun and entertaining at the Port for us this year!! :smt005...As for the stripers, there definetly in there. I didnt get any but around noon the bite apparently took off back near the docks and the boaters spoonin got into them for lil bit. I was too far down the channel and didnt make it on time. I even saw a few bankies land a limit. I'm hoping to get the video from matt soon..cant wait now to get back out there

Man thats a brutus.  Might qualify as a submarine.  Those pesky Salmon will be pests until the New Year.  I prefer the night time ninja action at the port, less hassles.  That security guard does have a shitty assignment though.  What can he really do except yell.  I guess throw rocks.  If he calls the Port Authority/ Coast Guard/ Sheriffs department because a bunch of fishermen won't listen to him, how big of a puss would he look like then.
