Used to be: a giant old-school Apelco VHF handheld (but it took almost 2 hands) in a drybag, two reels in another drybag, a burlap sack, and 4 PVC tubes on the back.

But like FishingAddict I went to an orange plano box so I could stop using the drybags.
The plano is like "instant add-a-hatch".

Unlike others :smt003 I have a 2.5 gal (w/bubbler) bait well, 4 poles holders, tackle box that fits on top of the 2.5 gallon bucket, flashing neon light for fog, stuff hanging off the sides :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 I tried the kitchen sink but had to put that in the front hatch with the radar system :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I usually only use mine when fishing multiple species. Bass, trout, panfish, Catfish etc all on the same day. Only thing that goes in it is my bait icechest, and small tackle bag. It also has room for three rods on it for the same reason. Don't use it in the ocean. I have a Tarpon and is not equipped for the semi waterproof plano box.

I quit using one too.  I really didn't need all the crap I was putting in it and it was just causing me to carry more than the essential equipment.  The more you carry, the more you add to the yard sale that's sure to happen some day.

I never used one on the yak but I still use them for the yak.  I have a crate designated for each yak and they hold that yak's specific rod holders, FF, DR weights, batteries, etc.  This allows me to just grab a crate when I know which yak I'm taking and I automatically know that I have everything for that yak and thus don't leave behind rod holders or the FF.

And I also have most of my tackle stored in small, clear plastic plano boxes that are stacked in crates.

Crate?
Is that the thing we used years ago to carry too much gear in?
Now with the trailer all my gear is loaded in the yak, ready to go ... if I ever get the chance :smt009

P.S.
I have a couple crates avail w/ rod holders if anyone is intrested :smt003

Two rod holders and plus that's what I use it to saddle my yak when I tow it on land.

I got 3 rod holders attached to the milkcrate and use it to store my RF's.
