Man, that is a horrible picture.

If you look into it, something like this was inevitable. Ohio apparently has some of the most lax laws in regard to exotic animal importation.

Sad as this whole story is, maybe just maybe these animals will not have perished in vain, and this tragedy will get some lawmakers off their lazy butts and get to work preventing a do-over.

in a better place indeed! :smt010
all animals (if not capable of surviving on thier own) should be let free.....zoos are nothing more than Animal Jails for Profit. Dont put me in the PITA Family, i just think that if the animal is fully capable on its own, why is it behind bars, suffering everyday.
there is a place in walnut creek called the Lindsey Wildlife Museum. They rehab' ALL injured animals in the Bay Area and then if they recover, they release them back in the same area they were found injured. Those that do not recover fully get to stay at the facillity as a resident. That is how the zoos should do it too.

Adam, I've been to the Lindsey wildlife place.  Very cool what the people do there.  The place gives people a chance to see local wiledlife from Mtn Lions, & bobcats to owls & eagles up close and personal.
On our visit, we were just in time for the mountain lion feeding, and I didn't hear as much as feel when the big cat growled!  It was a very spooky feeling!
 It's a good place.

This Jackass had no right to have these animals...

but somehow, he did...

My Uncle had a mountain lion when I was growing up...  it was kool, especially as a cub, but man what a ton of work for just one of these animals...

and as it got bigger became a true handful and was eventually released to a compound in Oregon...

There was no way in Hell these animals has any sense of living and hopefully this will be a call to tighten the reins on people who want "exotic " animals...

I haven't seen a one that had their head on straight...

and ya,  that includes my uncle....

Sometimes it seems the weirder or more exitic the pet, the more you have to keep an eye on the owner.  Reptile and bird owners are probably ok, just eccentric enough to be interesting.  Alpha predators?  Look out.

I agree 100% about zoo's.  Most of those animals have lost their minds and it's hard to watch.

At the least, they outta put the meat to use...have a Boy Scout cookout or give it to the homeless...
