I'm not familiar with the Micro SD cards.  I want to put this in my GoPro, do you think it will work?

Look at this one, its a class 6.  I'm not completely sure what "class" means, and if someone could break it down and put it in elementary school terms I would appreciate it.

What should I buy?  Will the micro one work?

Hello Shellback!(You must be in the Navy or used to be)That should work, I got a regular sd card from target and work just fine. About the class, don't really know much about it. I know there is a ton of people here with GO pro soon enough they will chime in.

GoPro states that you should use class 4 or higher on their website under FAQ.

I found a good deal on Amazon for a 32g class 10 card. So far, it's worked good in my GoPro.

Here's a link about SD Card Speeds. Hope it helps.

The class has to do with the max data rate or speed of the card.  Class 10 cards are ideal for a GoPro set to record any resolution or frame rate.  Class 6 cards are OK, but can experience frame rate issues when recording at 60 frames per second.  I use $15 16GB class 10 cards I bought at Target, and have zero issues.

32GB cards will work, but the battery is only good for about 2.5 hours at 1080P resolution, which is about 15GB.  You have to swap batteries in order to maximize the 32GB capacity.  I have two 16GB cards and two batteries, and just swap the card and battery on the fly to endure that I always have a fresh card with a fresh battery.

  Will the micro one work?

Micro SD works if it comes with the adapter for a standard SD slot, usually this is the case. Micro format is often found in smart phones etc. I bought some Class 6's from Costco and they seem fine.

Picked up the extended battery pack to record steelhead trips, hopefully I can get 4-5 hours at 1080P.

Class 4 for 720P @ 30FPS works just fine is actual ideal.  The speed of the card is matched very well to the speed of the camera.
