Got to Mendo Friday right at noon. Secured a couple of campsites and Mike/Mickfish followed soon after. Weather was Hot and humid. Mike and I decided to chill and do some catching-up. After dinner we fished the shoreline but to no avail.
Saturday morning rolls around and as I was sleeping in my truck (I had my tail gate down since it was a warm night) something was grabbing my feet and trying to drag me out of my truck  :smt118  Effing Adam/Fishunter was being "funny"  :smt013 He was lucky my M-4 Airsoft gun had no ammo at the time  :smt012  After a quick breakfast, the 3 of us paddled and trolled towards barn cove - no joy - but it the weather was EPIC and we only saw one ski boat on the water. We found a cove and parked our yaks for some cheese, salami and crackers....a little mendo bro-mance is always a good thing :smt002 We then fished Vinegar point and Adam had a momentary "fish-on" but was off the hook after a run or two. We then headed back to camp for a late afternoon / dinner and some Hammock time....

....Saturday late afternoon, Jdyak pulls into camp and joins us for dinner prep. Adam grills some seasoned potato wedges, I made some chili and Mike grilled some Korean short ribs. Dinner was well represented as always...

Sunday. Mike, Jd and I fished up the river. Mike picked up a few smallies while I paddled along the vegetation looking for signs of bass / panfish. Found some population and I used my ultra-light rod and had a blast catching and releasing the bluegills and little bass. Was hoping for a crappie but they were elsewhere.

We only fished half the day on Sunday and we met Sean at the dock and did some chillin and snacked on some man-dogs before we said our good byes.

Sean, shows us how to heave a fly....and he catches a little large mouth bass on the process.

Yeah, I was thinking pay back. I planned on snaring a squirrel and slapping it a few times before tossing it into Adams SUV while he was asleep  :smt077 Unfortunately, the squirrels were "street smart"  :smt011

Adam will be sleeping with one eye open on the the next fish n chill event....no doubt  :smt045 :smt074

It was good to relax with the boys and the weather couldn't have been better not a ripple on the lake all day Sat and the temp was just right. There was a pretty good Smalllie bite going on but we were trolling around hoping for a Striper we should have switched over. I did on for a little while on Sun and got a few nice fish. As I came up to the river mouth on Sat the Hobie Crew was looking much better than ours.
