The original plan was to meet up with Bill and Chuck on the Forebay. Come Sunday morning the weather was to say the least--threatening, so about I heading for some private bass waters. The water I'm writing about belong to my Dentist. Several years ago he had a large pond dug filled and stocked with with a few thousand fingerlings as well as bluegill, catfish and mosquito fish. Today it's a bass fisherman's dream. A lot of those fingerlings are ten lb bass and up. The bass I'm holding in the picture on my site is one of them. .
I was on the water about 11.00am  pedaled the Adventure around the pond casting my fly into the coves and the tulle's along the shore My first bass came from my first bunch of tulle's this was my first fish caught from my Adventure, It was also no longer than my hand. After a couple of hours of  paddling and pedaling the 16 ft Adventure  in tight quarters I got to feeling a bit cramped so I switch to my outback--word of difference, talk about turning on a dime. I also switched to a baitcaster and a storm swimbait, cast it all over the pond but no love. Storm fronts can be a blessing or a curse, this one was the latter. I think the big gal's and guy's were hunkered down to the bottom with a case of lockjaw. I went back to the flyrod and catching small bass for the rest of the day.
Next time .

Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

Hey Rickey - got your call on Sat. - sorry I couldn't join you at the Forebay. I already had a date with Stuart at Moss Landing. Anyway, glad to see your getting out and about. I'll see you on the water soon!  :smt023
