I have taken up spearfishing, and well, I am now addicted.  I was wondering if it is legal in CA to spearfish for any freshwater species such as trout, catfish, bass, etc.  Anyone know?

Miss the good ole days as a kid going out and spearing bullfrogs. Sure was a lot of fun. Only thing I enjoy diving for in fresh water are crawdads nowadays. MMM tasty!

Without doing any reasearch and speaking from memory only which for me is pretty bad,,,,,

I think there used to be and may still be carp spearing competitions at a few inland lakes, Comanche is the one that comes to mind,
