So these damn rats have been evading my backyard, climbing up the vines and are even getting into my attic! I can hear the scratching the walls late at night driving me crazy!... Ive bought rat traps and they dont work. I bait them and in the morning the baits gone! The trap is snapped but no rat! :smt013... Dont wanna use poison because of loca.... So what am I doing about it??? Thank you for asking. Months ago I purchased A pallet gun from Ben.. Its A beast killer!!!.. Post up in the backyard grab A beer and wait.. They start moving around when its dark so I light them up and fire away! Its almost funner than dove hunting!!  :smt004

Hey Andy, that's a gruesome pic...Nice!  :smt044
I terminate rats with extreme prejudice.

in regard to the stolen baits/tripped traps....I had a wicked rat prob in a rental years ago. They would do the same thing, snap the traps & steal the bait. I finally wiped them out by:

1.putting the traps out with bait but not setting the traps (the rats get used to the easy meal). Set the traps after a night or two and you'll get them.
2. I used the "bait no rat can resist", 1/4" slices of snickers bar. I also tied the bait onto the trap with floss. One tug and the trap is sprung=1 dead rat.
3. I had a couple of traps disappear, so i nailed one to a 1x8 plank. nailed the rat the first night.

none of this is as fun as plugging the lil bastards tho. I even threw a beer bottle at one once!

Wait for a full moon and blast the silhouettes in the trees  :smt044
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

I have had pretty good success with peanut butter in these traps. If you stick it in the hole the rats/mice have to work to get it out.. and bam!

That's a baby compared to the ones in my barn. The cats won't even try to get them they're so big. Sot 2 with the 22 when I was possum hunting in the barn. The next one I get I'll put on the hawg trough. Lightened up the release on the live trap last year and got one that was a foot long plus the tail.
