Hey guys,
Bloodbath here. Went to Carmel yesterday 9/7/11 with Lorenzo. It was the tail end of the big south swell, forecast was 3-5 ft, winds 8 knots. Arrived about 10am to calm high tide waters with about 10-15 ft of viz.
I was in about 15 ft of water when I noticed a crevice with some sizable red abalone (Usually do not see this many, because of the sea otter population). I was sightseeing and checking out the good sized abs that were packed in there working my way to the end of the crevice. Then I notice some eyeballs checking me out, I didn't like the way he was looking at me. Ended up being a 26.5 inch mfpb. First one for me without help from Bigjim

If you don't put a knife into em they will continue to move around on the stringer. They are some strong mofo's and may potentially find their way off your stringer I know, I need to work on that gopro angle. Proof is proof.
