I'm thinking about hitting the American River on Sunday in hopes of catching a Salmon. Anyone going out this Sunday? I'm probably going to lauch at Discovery at around 8 am. If anyone knows of another lauch that's better let me know.

I was thinking about heading out the the American also.  It has been several years since I fished it (and always from a boat) but I usually headed upriver from the mouth to around where the 160 overpass is.  I remember there looked like a shore access point up there so I looked it up on google.  It looks to me like there is a parking lot and trail down to the river (Look east of 160 near the bike trail).

Are you up for trying that?  If the access does not look good, there is always Discovery.  I am thinking more along the lines of 7am to beat the heat.

I would be up for that on a different day but I have my father-in-law coming with me sat and he has very little kayak experience so I thought this would be a good spot for him to get to yak fish and not too much of a paddle
