Got to get otw so I'm hittin somewhere close to home to get my fix company would be awesome. Plannin on launching around 4 from the small park off Jefferson blvd, I don't remember what the name of the park but there is no parking fee and they have a nice hand launch ramp. I haven't fished here much I know there is all kinds of species in this water but have only tried for stripers and cats, I'm gearing up for striper but will bring tackle for other species too.

Is that the launch on the west side of the river? Downstream and across from Discovery?

it's actually in west sac I don't think the park even has a name it's just a gated dirt road on the west side of Jefferson blvd about 100 yds south of the deep water channel very close to the boat locke which lead to the sac river but I don't know if is still in use. I will be fishin the channel not the river though.

It is about a mile or so west of the river across from miller park on the south shore of the deep water channel, I cant find an adress for it but the its easy to find, i usually take hwy 50 and take the jefferson blvd exit and go south on jefferson blvd.  Then just go down jefferson blvd for a couple miles and it will go over the deep water channel, the entrance is a right turn onto a dirt road at the first light south of the channel.
hope you can make it, joe

Hey! We go out there a lot... called barge canal access. Just went last week... Not a lot of action right now. So much bait swimming around... I'd hit somewhere else for now till water cools a bit. Some small stripers in system. Wait till Oct for big fish. look in the members fishing report Port o sac... Good luch. Is a nice paddle even without fish... Take minnows or shad....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
