I ENJOYED KAYAKING OUT IN MONTEREY, THEN PURCHASED MY OWN KAYAK. I LOVE TO FISH, SO ONCE I SEEN THAT THERE WERE MANY KAYAK ANGLERS I WANTED TO DO IT. I JUST WANT TO FIND SOME PEOPLE THAT I CAN TAG ALONG WITH SO I CAN LEARN. NONE OF MY FRIENDS LIKE THE SPORT, SO I REALLY WANT TO FIND SOME PEOPLE THAT CAN HELP.

ANY KIND OF HELP IS VERY WELCOME..
THANKS
CHUWY.

WTTM.  I think rockfish/cab/lings are a good place to start (to get hooked on a lot of fish) and see some action.
On second thought, why not WSB and Salmon- newbie luck?  :smt044

There are a lot of hookups, so check them out and see you OTW!
Geographically, you are not too far from many good yakfishing launch sites, so feel free to post a hookup as well.

WELCOME CHUWY, YOU'RE RIGHT... WAit...  :smt003 you're right next door to me here, and I'm looking forward to seeing you out on the water.  Like Hamichijohn said, keep an eye on the hook ups and or just cruise the sight everything yak fishing is here.

Welcome Chuwy,

I'm new to kayak fishing but have been fishing for a while.  So far I've done tons of research and just been on a couple of fresh water lakes (Lake Mendo, Quarry Lakes, Shadow Cliffs) practicing self rescue, trolling, anchoring, drifting, and just getting a good feel for my yak.  I'm so glad I didn't jump into saltwater right away because I learn something new every time.  This forum has a lot of information.  Good luck out there!

Welcome To The Madness......take the proper steps in safety first......like others have always said.

Be a Kayaker First, then a fisherman second.....i did the same as you about 5 yrs ago. Started seeing fishing kayaks at the places i shore fished. Dont get caught up in all the extra bells&whistles you'll see available. You only need the basics to get started.
You are surrounded by quility people here.......you have found new friends and your new family.

I agree with everyone here. Safety first. The ocean/bay can turn on you pretty fast as I have learned. Welcome to the madness. Just don't let it take you over...like me  :smt010

I definately will practice being 'one' with my kayak. I've never been in any dangerous situation in the water.  I do need some info on th proper gear to wear. I know being out on th water things can change fast, In case of submersion more than anything.

I am really excited to just catch my first fish on my kayak. But I really want to be a safe kayaker first. I don't want to scare myself away from this.
 So any tips are welcome..
