Cut out of work at noon, western boat shop had dead ghost shrimp half off, so i used my own dead ghosties from sat, stinkie and limp as wet noodles.
Got to the channel, 50 feet or so from the trestle, cast out and in 2 minutes- pump, set and major load! gave me a Petaluma sleigh-ride for an hour, even under the trestle, finaly got my snare on him hoping for a legal size, but alas, 56 in came to his belly button or so! Imade damn sure he was OK from the snare, hanging on his gill and giving him a good sweep of water for a few min, and he revived to the point of pulling me half of my yak in a frenzy. Im still on the hunt till I get a keeper!

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I tried to get a length, but it was useless- he was over 6 foot, less than 7, i think.

Nice!!!  Looks like you've been putting in your time in Pablo with all that mud on the side of your yak Ben.  Way to GO!  I'll call you up when I get another yak bro.  Possibly beginning of May.  JTF..

Way to go Guitarzan!!!  Your patience and persistence has finally paid off!  That's definitely a really nice fish... hard to judge without seeing the whole thing but the head looks like probably over 60 inches... welcome to the club!!!  I hate to say it but there ain't no cure for the dino fever....

Awesome Ben!

Not only did you catch that monster on dead and stinking bait (maybe that's the ticket in muddy water?) but you managed to take great pictures.  Between horsing that beast to the boat and lifting it into the yak I wouldn't be able to stop shaking enough to snap off pictures like you did...I think that's the Tarzan in your handle.

I hope you gave the PB folks a show they wished they were a part of.
