Hell,
few weeks back I had a blast with Mackerel fishing  in Monterey bay. I was wondering  about the bit for Mackerel and squid anywhere from HMB to Monterey?

Cheers,

Squid tend to be in front of the embassy hotel at the very bottom. Use a sabiki lure and jig them up.  Look for the sea lions working the squid and that should be the area.  Macks will come in and out of there too.

Thanks Guys! Really appreciate the replays.

I'd like to clarify the ask: I would really appreciate if the folks share where are the mackerels and squids actions. I understand these are in and out.
Cheers,

They're migratory creatures bro, your best bets are to follow the reports, start reading up on the spawning habits of market squid/macks, get real buddy buddy with a commercial fisherman in hmb or drive the coast looking for the signs.

FWIW I read a report this am that said the sc harbor was plugged with bait, the macks should be hanging around.  Go troll a sabiki with a kastmaster trailer and report back.

SC harbor was loaded with bait this past weekend - sardines, macks, anchovies and small perch on the sabiki.
