I asked Fuzz the same question a while back and this is what he recommended to me.  http://www.uwkinetics.com/products/sl4-eled-l1
I bought it from Leisure Pro when it was on sale for much cheaper than the link I provided you, so be sure to shop around. It's a badass flashlight, I definitely recommend it.

Hey John,
Do you want a handheld or one that you can mount to your gun?
Intova makes good lights, high lumens, and can mount to your gun if needed.

The regular sl4 eled is what I use.  The new L1 version Shellback linked to is awesome... but I already have 3 of the base eled ones (& one modified one).    :smt005

On sale, the regular ones are ~$50.

Somewhat pricey, but bombproof, good battery life, & a nice clean bright white light.

I was browsing Austin kayak's and saw this.  I don't know if this is good product.  Hope this helps.

thanks for all the good info guys, i have been out of the dive gear scene for a while and just bee4n using old stuff i have had for 10+ years.

my stuff is all falling apart. i just tore an omer footpocket behind the heel and fixed it with a hypalon patch and inflatable boat adhesive : )

my work ordered up some intova lights which area great but i never thought of using them for the ocean. i may have to do so. they got them because they are bright and we use them for testing in which we need to see lots of defects on a really shiny surface. i think the ones we use at work are are the dual cr123 battery wide beam torches.

i used to have a light mounted on one of my guns but it just was not working well, line getting caught up in it and it changes how the gun feels. i only use old euroguns which i have tinkered a lot with and anything other than a round barrel all by itself up at the front of the gun feels awkward and unbalanced to me. the gopro i use is at the back so its by the hand and does not seem too weird.

i'll let you know how it goes and what i choose, definitely the c4 has to go! that damn thing is too heavy and bulky!

I had an intova, lost it, bought a new one. Joe found the one I lost and he now has it mounted on his pneumatic! :smt005

I bought a princeton Tec torrent for when my brother in law was visiting. Lent him the intova and he lost it and then I bought the sl4 eled.

The intova is bright but the beam was super narrow.

After one dive with the sl4 I like it a lot!
