Hello, new to the site, hoping to find some fishing parters!

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself. Names Victor. Originally from South Florida, sport fishing capital of the world, where the fish arent picky and plentiful. Coming from there iv found that fishing in California has brought a lot of new challenges which are great and are really building my love for fishing. With that being said iv only caught maybe 3 Largemouth out at Berryessa and around 7 trout in Mendecino national forest. Would love to go out with some like minded serious fisherman that could show me the ropes and have a good time catching all kinds of species. I love my beer too so you can always assume I have a full cooler. I enjoy river, lake, surf, deep sea and everything in between. I'm currently stationed at Travis AFB for at least 2 more years.  Despite the base population I have not been able to find anybody serious about fishing. My only real fishing partner is my girlfriend and while she is also passionate she lacks the skills and drive I need. Would gladly chip in for gas or rental of boats for fishing excursions. I own a 12 foot Nucanoe kayak rigged for fishing. Its heavy as hell and is easily taken by the wind. Serious downsides. I also have an eagle cuda 650 depth finder. I have not been able to figured out how to mount this fish finder yet. The nucanoe dose not allow for drilling holes into the actual vessell so i'm looking to use a marine goop or something for both the actual unit and the transducer. Any help with this would be great in this post. Suggestions on how or what kind of glue I should use. Love taking video of the catches with my newly purchased Go Pro HD. Thanks and im looking forward to being part of the community. Feel free to hit me up on facebook. hthttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=715560448tp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=715560448

Welcome to the madness, you will find a lot folks here are very welcoming and always willing to give a helping hand, as far as glue most of us including myself use marine goop, also if you are serious about fishing look on the hookup section and pm or reply to the thread, if you need help in gearing theres a section on the bottom gearing up http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/board,20.0.html , I'm just not sure about the model of you Nucanoe..perhaps you can start looking and demoing some OK, Wilderness, or Raptor I am pretty sure you can find one suited for you, watch out on the Classified theres a guy name Darius likes to buy and sell yak for cheaper price :smt002 I have a brother in law live in Digerud accross Huber, I will holler at you when Im in the area..looking forward fishing with you!!!

Hello Victor, and welcome fellow vet.. I'm hoping to cross paddles with you some day, I'm just 20 min. south of you so be on the lookout at the hookups section for a fish slaying session.  Try (if you can) considering Darius' advice with demoing some yaks it's a whole different ballgame.  Again, welcome to the maddness.

Hey all! Thanks for the warm welcomes. Id love to fish the Delta, especially up in Rio Vista area. Coming back from bass pro today I took a look around and a lot of the canals in and around Stockton remind me of Florida. I got an epoxy called 2 Ton Epoxy by Devcom. Not sure if its good or not. Bass Pro didnt have Marine Goo so, there it is. Just need a 12 volt to complete the fishfinder. Can anyone suggest one to me? Small as possible? I was going to go with a large wet cell 12 volt but I thought there just had to be a smaller battery just for the fishfider. Thanks
