Looks like I may be headed to Ft. Bragg for the winter.
I'm new to the sport and would be interested in meeting
anyone in the area.

Another newbie here, live outside of Willits. I'm headed to Shelter Cove Friday morning 8/12 planning on fishing till 1. I might be looking to go back out on Sunday if you're interested, Caspar, Shelter Cove or whereever.

NCKA makes a difference, cool seeing people making contact, note to guests, signup!!!!

I love the Ft Bragg area, too bad the rocky season ends so early in that area,  may not make it up this year but I think I've only missed 1 or 2 in the last 27.

I'm here in Willits, waiting for some flat water before the rocky season closes.
I've only been out twice this year, it would be great for one last voyage before the closer.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like my arrival will be put off
about a month. How is the ocean in the winter up there for
kayaking and fishing?

Owl, the ocean can get nice sometimes during the Winter, but there's nothing open to fish for.
If I'm lucky I get to chase steelies in the rivers.

I'll start chasing the steelies and salmon next month on the Klamth river, I switch to the Trinity river during October then over to the Smith river in November. December thru the end of March I fish the Smith, South Fork Eel and Russian river. I own a 17' x 54" Drift Rite (drift boat), love it. Going to give the yak a try on the lower Klamath this year, should be interesting. Mako, we'll have to hook up some time.
