goop question

I have always mounted my transducers with Marine goop and never had a problem. I'm mounting a new transducer and don't have any marine goop. I have a tube of auto goop that I don't have any other use for. Has anyone used auto goop to mount their transducer? Anyone think it wouldn't work?

Same stuff different tube! I believe all the outdoor/mechanical/marine are the same formulation....

Plumbers Goop at Home Deopt.  Its the same stuff, I used it for my last in-hull transducer install.
