MAN FIGHTS THRESHER....LITERALLY

David Saldamando is an extreme kayaking fisherman.

But even this was a bit much for him.

The Californian is used to scoring big fish from his little vessel, but rarely does the fight to capture a shark take him to the water.

The incident, which was caught on camera (you can see it below), had Saldmando literally wrangling the thrashing shark with his hands. At points, the shark's teeth are just inches from his feet and Achilles tendon.

This shark was not going down without a fight. Though it did finally succumb to the kayaker's brute strength, it doesn't appear that this was an instance of shark-finning, or an illegal act.

wow, missed that one... nice...

I remember mine... seconds left in the shark fishing derby, slams my twice frozen sardine bait... frys my corsair reel and freezes it...  damm thing is aerial like the water is on fire... heads back to the yak and slams the side, scooped him up with my Salmon net and the true fight was on...  both feet on his head while the tail is slapping my face,
