Anyone up for an after work commando evening mission to the Port of Sac?  I'll probably hit the water about 6 and fish til sometime after dark...

I going to try cut sardines. or possibily some live minnows.  i've never fished on anchor before so, will be something new for me.

The port you will not need to fish on anchor, there isn't much current....hence the name Washington Lake in the open area.

The launch is just a little way south the freeway on Jefferson Ave in West Sacramento.  Just take Jefferson south from exit off 50/80 and just as you cross a bridge the parking lot will be on the right.  Pm me your email address and I'll send you a google earth link.

I was thinking the delta breeze might kick up and blow in the evening, not so much current.  I'll just drift if the winds lay down.

I may have to help a buddy out on some touch ups at his house after work on friday but if not im a go! The port is good for bass and crappie rite now, u just got to find them! Possibly a few schoolie stripers too! But if the wind picks up in there, it could be kinda frustating to manuever your yak around especially when trying to crappie fish! Nows the time to hit the american for some Monster stripers if thats what your lookin for, the flows are good now and a lot of big fish in the system!

+3 maybe.... Hitting the delta later that night around 1 am...so might just forgo sleep and head out to the port....
If you can get the small sardines they work a little better per Steve for the smell....the big ones don't attract as much.....

Goodluck at Capitola. I have to stay in Sacto this weekend as it is my anniversity....so no amount of WAF points will work for this weekend.
