Got up early to try out my new rod & reel @ SWS.The parking situation there was wierd/closed so I blew it off and went to Cypress Point/Fanshell beach.SO FOGGY and windy that I left there and went to Carmel River State Beach. Sunhine, but a little fog wind from the north and Pt.Lobos shrouded in fog to the So. Carried the prowler and gear to the beach and launched, easy.
I used the FF and when it went off I dropped down about 35-40' and quickly had a limit of nice sized blues.( One of my favorites to catch& eat)I figured it was still early so I dragged everything back to the truck and came home, cleaned everything and had fresh fish tacos for lunch with the GF. New rod&reel worked like a dream-catcher. :smt005I know,no pics, didn't happen.but sure tasted great and added  big points to my account :smt004

"The parking situation there was wierd/closed" Would you mind giving some more info? I'm heading there Sat 7/2. I checked the Pebble Beach website & didn't see anything.
Thanks.

Non members of the Beach&Tennis club MUST park in the coastal parkig area between the hedgerows near the entrance to the club.Signs are posted there for coastal access w/ph#.They can limit the number of people who get access. :smt010
I was told to park about 200yds north in the "spa" parking lot across from the tennis courts just before you turn left at the stop sign.A short walk down along the 17th fairway and you're there. They use the hedgerow lot for overflow parking on "special events", This weekend and next are"Special Events" like the AT&T and Concours. Be polite,it's not cool to park in their lot for hours while members wait for you to return.Unload, park wherever they tell ya,return, load and leave with a smile :smt003

There is a golf event at Pebble Beach this weekend.  I was at Aquan yesterday and Chilton, one of the staff told what its called but I can't remember.

He said his parents have a house at Pebble  Beach and its rented out this weekend by a Hollywood movie star.

Thanks for all the info. I've parked in that spa lot before - guess I'll do it again!

This report may be too late since it's already Saturday, but there's some construction going on at the Beach Club.  It looks like they're rebuilding the seawall.  The coastal parking lot was occupied by construction equipment last time I was over there (a few days ago).

The construction has been going on since the season started. No problem Sat 7/2 - I parked by the fairway hedge like usual.

Landed ~12 rockfish, mostly olives, kept 2 big olives for the bbq. So fishing a little slow from my perspective. Did find a big school at one point, which have been scarce so far this season. All caught on clouser minnows of various colors.

Somewhat windy & swelly but nothing unusual.
