Martin,

I looked up your results in the Seattle Marathon online...WTG!!!!!!

You're a stud bro...I knew even with yoru lack of long distance training that if you got out there you would rock it!

I can't make it anywhere far from home right now, but hope you have a great weekend up there...you deserve it!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

ps...I'm gonna be the WebCaptain for the TNT Fall season and take pics and videos for the folks down here and train for an event TBD...will keep you posted on long runs that we can do together!!  :smt004

So long as it isn't windy, I bet you will have a great time ;)  I've only fished it once by kayak, but plan on doing more this year.  Check out the damn on the left side of the lake.  Or go for the full paddle down to the end, which looks beautiful!!!  You can also check out the Stanislaus river for some stream fishing.  I can PM you spots if you need.

Jim, I had a blast running Seattle!  I nearly bailed for a multitude of reasons but so glad I went.  On the sunday before Seattle, I raced a 2 mi swim/10K run Aquathlon in morgan hill.  I fractured the thermoplastic cushion in my right shoe, making a helluva squeak, requiring replacement.  Turns out it was a discontinued model no longer sold in stores.  The only site on the interwebs that sold it was Shoebacca.com.  $130 later the same model shoe arrived on Thursday before the Saturday marathon.  I literally broke them in during the race!  Not ideal but whatevs.

Morning of, I felt great, really strong.  The first half felt too easy, and was incredibly scenic.  Then at 16 I developed severe GI issues and between 16 and 22 stopped 4x in various porta potties along the way.  So gross, major TMI, I know.   :smt011  Easily cost me 10 minutes.  Anyway, I finished.  Feel like I could drop an hour off my time if I actually trained for the distance and didn't have the GI problems - so I'm pretty sure i WILL be back.  Meanwhile, I'll use Seattle as a base mileage for races in the fall, maybe the SJ Rock N Roll 1/2.  Would love to join you on your long runs, the one we did really saved me!

Plantar fascia felt decent so i'm calling it a recovery.  but both my IT bands and knees are sore as hell, still!   :smt044  getting old stinx.

I can PM you spots if you need.

Thanks Al.  I'm going up with no fishing agenda b/c if I do, the SigOth will sniff it out and harass me.  Just going to explore the Stanis and yak Pinecrest.  Maybe go for a swim if there's no icebergs.

I'll be up that way on Sunday.

Holler at me carnal.  got space for two more if you and the lil homie want to crash wit us on Saturday night.

Read a report from Pinecrest Sport Shop that says surface temps are a toasty ~ 51 degrees.  :smt002  http://www.pinecrestsportshop.com/

Also, DFG shows stocking went in this week, with one last week at Beardsley.  http://dfg.ca.gov/fish/Hatcheries/FishPlanting/Central.asp

Should be decent planter action.

I Hit pinecrest 2 weeks ago, All the fish were pretty much by the inlet, There were lots of 10-12 inchers, The only thing i could get them on was worms bounced along the bottom.

Thanks Garet for the tip.  You figure there will be a lot of boat traffic that way?  If you know of any good pools I should hit up on the Stanis in that area, shoot me a PM.

Didn't find a report, did you write one?
