I have two days left at work and then I am off for three weeks! I have only been in salt a few times in OR and at Trinidad crabbing and I'm wanting to go and catch my fish of many saltwater species. Crabbing back in November off Trinidad was beautiful. Anyone have any intel for the Lost Coast?  :smt006

Also going to try some places up here inland that I have always wanted to fish in a yak.

Trinidad sounds awesome, it's been 2 years since I've been over there.  I'm booked the next two weekends but then things will start to free up for me.  You mentioned inland waters too, anything specific in mind?  I'm up for a river float one day of 4th of July weekend.

Sounds great DrDave, can't wait for the report. :smt001
I could probably make a couple of inland water day trips, I'll keep an eye out for hookups.

beenfishin, I'm up for a river float. :smt002

The ocean calls but it is a long drive over hwy 299 :smt012. I am thinking of going up to Copco. Never been there but maybe could add a species to the my all time list. I have never caught a Yellow Perch before. It would be good for my youngest son and I to hit the road for a guy trip.

I have not been in the Sac. River yet... not brave enough :smt013...I have too much respect for that river. A friend of mine spent his life on the Sac down in Chico and one day engine died with no back up...long story short...boat caught in a snag... tipped and he almost lost his life. Where do you put in and take out?

Copco sounds fun, I've always wanted to check out the yellow perch bite too.

I'll post a hook up for the river as we get closer.  I've run it a number of times, if you have any paddling skills you'll be perfectly fine.  My office sits right over the Bonnyview ramp, so I keep tabs on flows/traffic all day, and it looks really inviting right now.  A long day trip is the Posse Grounds down to the Anderson River Park, but that doesn't leave much time for beaching the yaks and working the gravel bars, so the Bonnyview to Anderson stretch would be a good choice.  I too have a tremendous respect for the river, I cringe when I look out and see a raft full of teenagers w/ no pfd's.  That said, safety is number one, fishing number two.

Funny, I work right down the street from your office. I will be watching for the river trip. I am sitting down with one of my sons tonight to finalize our trips during my time off. :smt001
