Hey guys,
Due to a double mortgage and hardship, we may lose the barn. Alan will most likely have to rent
the barn out to a tennant to make ends meet unless...
The plan would be to get 8 guys or gals to commit to $800 for the diving season, which is April through December. This will give you a key and access to the property and also will give our NCKA brothers to the property as well. Any takers? We already have a few.
I am posting this to promote immediate interest and possibly save the red barn. Alan has already been showing to potential tenants.
Cost would be $800 each person for the dive season April-November. This comes out to $88 per month per person.
Here is a list of who are already paid and potential, please chime in on this post for our future!

1. Sledge/ paid
2. baitandbeer/ ?
3. bloodbath/paid
4. Dr. Habanero/?
5. Solsrf1/ ?
6.
7.
8.

Thank you for your time guys.

If we can get permission to hunt the coyotes on the property, I can get you three more peeps by tomorrow.

*Edit - Nevermind, I thought you were just trying to get 8 people to pitch in $100 each! Looking for 8 peeps @ $800 each, right?

Is the Red Barn an actual structure?  Or is it just land?  I could be down.  I'm guessing the $800 would give unlimited access for the season right?

I will plan on doing this starting in July. Been tight time lately and hopefully things are going to be better soon( Can anyone say daycare sucks!) . I'll be stopping by on Saturday to talk more. I wish I was camping up here this week but wifes friends have an annual in Forestvillle. Maybe next year they would enjoy the Red Barn better will try to tlak them into it.

Is RockHopper right about the desired amount?

I'd like to know more about the Red Barn--like it's history and stuff.

Oh, I just had an idea!

I've driven past it a thousand times but know little,  does the property have usable access to the shore,

Or maybe a better question is what exactly would one get for the 800.  I'm all for helping out friends of NCKA but would really like to know allot more,

Why 8 times 800, why not 16 times 400 ?

Just curious?

i took this from mooches post from last years redbarn classic

..a little overview of the event!

1. The lot was huge and there were lot's of room for tents and car campers.
2. we had no shortage of firewood
3. the short scenic hike to the beach cliff was well worth it.....the view from the famous "bench" was the shnizzel.
4. we got to blow up some pumpkins and some other random fireworks - and there was no one to stop us from doing so!
5. food and drinks were well represented (as usual)
6. the loud music and the flashing disco ball going through the fog at night effect gave the fire pit a unique blend of the true Nor Cal experience.
7. and despite of the random blowing up of pumpkins and loud music, we had a clear view of the ocean and we marvelled at the sunset!
8. the party ended when we decided that it was over...
9. the burning man incident...

Needless to say, it was a taste of total freedom and that's what made this event even more special! We did not have to deal with camp curfews.....no Park Rangers telling us what we can or can't do. No camp neighbors complaining about the loudness. You simply can't put a price on a piece of land like this!

plus full access to the inside of the barn , think of it like a big clubhouse  , has everything you need in it , kitchen , bathroom , rooms with beds , couch living room area , deck outside with view to the ocean with more to come...its up to us.

its like a big clubhouse in the shape of a barn PLUS a bunch of land. unlimited access for the entire season.

Hey Joe,

Put me down as a strong possibility in the #5 slot. Like others, this kind of financial commitment takes a lot of thought and consideration before moving forward. I do like Dale L.'s suggestion of 16x$400 or possible other solutions.  Worth mentioning and personal note; the Red Barn, property, scenic views, all the good times,"the bench", coastal access to diving and fishing, freedom to operate, hiking, convenient location to other spots, the Red Barn Classic Derby, the amenities of the red barn, and camping makes this a more than reasonable investment when you break it down by the month for the entire season. I'll get in touch with you or Allen soon. Mike
