EKG/SMC Saturday June 18 - I meant Tuesday June 21

I am going to fish EKG with Bill on Saturday, subject to weather (I can hard confirm Friday).  Company welcome.  However, remember that this is an open beach launch/landing.

Also, I'm not posting this in reaction to the Bean post.  I think the points made in that post are good.  Bill and I raft up almost every time we fish SMC, and I'd raft up with anyone else who wanted to.  I don't have a death wish, but I recognize an element of risk on each trip.  Respect the ocean - it's not just sharks that can get you. 

I guess what I'm saying is, I respect those of you who choose to avoid SMC, and hopefully I won't get flamed for going.

No flaming here Mike. I appreciate you going and especially letting those of us with smaller gonads know when the fishing is hot.

That way we will know when to sneak down for a trip or two. 

Heads up I was there over the weekend and the main reef below the lighthouse was a very slow pick. I think you might do better out deeper because the water was all discolored inshore.

Whats EKG? Im new to fishing the SMC but would love to find something closer to home. Sharks are something to respect but will not deter me from fishing.

EKG is between bean and pigeon pt. Called EKG because of what the structure looks like on the FF I believe. Beach launch is right near the first exit to get out to the lighthouse.

Otter - I was on the same reef two weeks ago and it was slow.  However, I am hoping the water is a little warmer and there is more bait in, and I'll be a little deeper.

re: EKG - you got it right - first beach on the Pigeon Pt. Road intersection with Hwy1, heading South.

Why does it has to be Saturday? WHYYY I planned cherry pick with Fam wish I could be there..I will try Sun BH if weather permits..

+1 w/ Darius.  I'll be down for Sunday if weather looks great as well.  Got a family event in the morning and a wedding in the afternoon on this Saturday

My weekends are jammed until the middle of next month. Would love to finally make it out and fish the southern part of the area & EKG with you Mike, but it looks like I'm shorebound for a while.

OK I take it back looks like everyone agrees Sunday Cherry picking..the weather looks too good to pass..I will see you there mike, if not I will probably launching on Legume since I am more familiar on that place, I will play by the ear...

Wish I could go but it's between ARW an PIF so I don't have the WAF to do EKG this weekend. Don't take any newbies out of EKG that don't know what these initials mean.
