The extended family has rented a house in the Keys next week.  The house has a dock, so taking the kayaks more for paddling, but will try to fish at least once.  Never fished tahoe or much freshwater for that matter.  Shark_bait and I are competent ocean paddlers, and thus set up for cold water.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The "lagoon" area just to the east of the entrance from the keys marina to the lake holds some nice bass - go early.

For Mack's, get to 200' of water and jig a big piece of hardware like a 4 ounce Diamond Jig.

Good luck - have fun!   :smt001

thanks guys.  Never knew the area had warm water fish.  I have always been a sucker for panfish on a bobber and fly.  The mack jigging sound a lot like ling hunting...

Try to get a hold of Tote or Zilla.  They are the tahoe brains!  There are a couple of new guys too, I think Jude and somebody else.

Yeah, there are talks of eradicating them, but until then, enjoy!

Fallen leaf for sure if you want a shit load of lil macks..if u got a down rigger or longliner, troll a big broken back, trophy taker, or a silver quickfish 80-120ft in about 200+ fow for the macks in tahoe! ALso, if you have one, throw out a minnow trap and fill it with dry dog food and catch or own minnows and troll them behind a BIG ass dodger! Thats a guaranteeed hookup there!

They already already started eradicating the macks & bass...bastards. Only four local people showed up to the meeting trying to fight it. Fishworks gave ya some good fishing advice, but beware fallen leaf marina will make u get a 5$ 190 degree pressure wash  to stop mussels,so u have to de-gear, plus a 5$ launch fee.
