Here are images of my (no drilling) fishfinder install. I fabricated a bracket that used the existing forward foot rail holes as a mounting point. I then fabricated another bracket to hold the transducer that utilized the existing rudder mount holes. Battery is up front in a sealed bag, wires come out of existing hole under forward rod holder and rear rod holder.

IM me if you have questions or want more detail.

Looks good.  I have a newer Tarpon which has the side slider rails so I added the dashboard with fish finder and rod holders.  I would prefer the layout of yours as it sits lower and less obtrusive.  I do like the dashboard for around Sacramento (river and lakes), but I think for ocean where you are going to do beach launches/returns, having it low and out of the way is much better.

Very nice setup I use the TDA for my transducer, but low is good  :smt001

Thanks. I wanted it low to avoid it getting in the way when fighting fish. In addition, I have it setupmso I can take it off in less than 5 minutes and all looks back to normal. Because it is steel and sturdy, it also works as a "grab rail" when loading and unloading from the truck.

Did you consider using aluminum instead of steel for the cross peice?  Would save you weight, and still be plenty strong, and won't rust/corrode.
Looks good as it sits though!

I did want to use aluminum. I didn't have an aluminum gun for my welder at the time.
