Whats up everyone,
I hit the butterfly house today in search of some bigger fish.  While driving down to carmel I was remembering a conversation that I was having with shellback about how you need to put your days in with bad weather/swell/viz in order to really appreciate the good days and earn the epic ones.  I pulled up to flat water but it amazes how much kelp is in that one little spot.  I suited up and hopped in to fairly clear water except for the 2 ft layer of kelp that I had to manuever my fat body over. Side note- the kelp is so frustrating and exhausting.  I was so frustrated at one point that the only thing that could make me happy was if I could find the end of the rainbow with a pot of gold, and kick that damn lephrican right in the shin.  Anyways I found a couple of nice 17" cabbies as well as some other B/Y's when I pulled up on a school of blues and proceeded to slay from there.  I ended up with 5 blues, 2 cabs, 2B/Y's and a perch.  I think im gonna make that my thing.  "Always shoot one perch"  I dropped some fish off at the carmel fire station because my buddy danny works down there.  Im heading out again on thursday with shellback and another buddy.  Company is not only welcome but encouraged.

Jim,
Colds are not meant to be taking lightly.  They are very serious and can lead to future health problems.  If you are feeling even the slightest cough, you need to have the discipline to tell work that you have to address you health first and foremost.  I have heard that cold water and holding your breath are great natural remedies to the common cold :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

Always entertaining--thanks!   Hey, I found a pinnacle like a half-mile SW of there and it comes up from 60 to 18ft deep during low tide. Not too much kelp over it yet, either. It's definitely one of those spots you guys should dive.

Not sure when my next weekend trip will be. Big Jim usually goes on Sundays but if you go with him bring your man pants.  Big Jim takes it to
The next level.  The butterfly house is just south of pebble beach.  It is just north of
Point lobos and it is a great spot to
Dive it just has a done of kelp on the entry
