Hey everyone. I'm new to this site and new to kayak fishing. I love to fish and fish as much as I can, usually once a week. I'd like to buy a used skiff if possible because, well I'm broke haha. Married with two kids, time and money is scarce. Even if you don't have a yak to sell, I still don't mind feedback on what to buy. The only yak I've ever been on was on my honeymoon in Jamaica. I'm looking to spend around 5-6 hundred bucks. My aim is to use it at ARW for halibut n stripers. Once again I'm new to this so hopefully we can get this rolling and enjoy a lot of fun times ahead of us.

you can get a boat for that no problem....keep looking on craigslist and the classifieds on NCKA. If you see a green prowler w/ no hatches or a seat....LET US KNOW! I think you will get $500 in reward money alone! You'll just have to look the other way when we go meet the seller.

WELCOME!

Come out to ARW this Sat. and you'll be able to test paddle or view a bunch of yaks.

@nudling I can definitely get out there after work. I'm off at 1pm and I live in Oakland, so just 10 minutes away. If anything, I'd like to see how it feels to sit on an SOT. I'm a bit worried because I've been having issues with my lower back after long periods of sitting. But heck, guess I won't know unless I try it.

I'm sure there'll be kayaks out there in ARW this Saturday, but the main event is on Sunday. There'll be around 70 kayaks out there on Sunday.

I have a bad lower back too. i find you can sit sideways and hang feet over one side, sit staight with feet over the sides, etc, to change up the load on the back.
