Hello All,

Got in the water yesterday after a long while and was looking forward to a nice dive with good vis and calm seas.  Got just that and my buddy and I managed to score a couple.  I only encountered one problem, my Mares Razor fin completely exploded!!!  I was swimming along through the kelp when all of the sudden I had no power with my right leg.  WTF is thought to myself and with further investigation the hardware holding the blade to the foot pocket had all fallen away and the blade was detaching from said pocket.  I tried to shove it back in with some success and hoped it would hold but it kept popping back out.  I ended up diving the next two hours with just one fin which was kinda a bummer.(Felt like I was going in circles!!)  I went to my local dive shop and asked if they had replacement parts for the fin which they didn't.  They called around and were really even unsure if Mares would supply just the hardware!!   My question to you all is have you heard of this happening before?   and does anyone know for sure if Mares will sell just that hardware on its own?  I looked around on line and couldn't find anything.  Will have to wait now until Monday when the shop can contact Mares themselves but if worst comes to worst I might have to rig something together from my local hardware store.  Thanks for any advice out there.  You guys are the best!

TH

Superglue them in. Yes I'm serious. I have a pair of Picasso footpockets that I mounted fiberglass leaderfin blades to. I used superglue and they have held strong through many trips and hard kicking. They have been banged around on the bottom of the ocean, lake and back of my truck. I got the idea from other divers that do the same thing.
