I plan to launch from Santa Cruz harbor on Sunday morning. Weather is not fantastic, but winds arent supposed to be terrible. I hear the halibut bite is decent, and I hear there are sardines around. My plan is to buy some fresh dead squid from Bayside Marine when they open, and head out of the harbor. I plan to mostly target halibut, but if I drift over a reef, all the better. I'll be bringing a sabiki rod and maybe drifting some live dines if I'm lucky.

Hi Yakers:

Ranch99  Mkt. has good Quality Squid. You might try
head into the west Wind and try you luck around the crab Traps
by the LightHouse and Kelp Beds.
Drifting in Kelp in between the Fingers of Fronds has
been Productive.

                                                                            Good Luck

Might join you, if the weather is doable and I can get up after going to a concert the night before  :smt044  I wouldn't count on Bayside having fresh dead squid, all I ever see there is frost bitten squid myself.  Somehow the gas station in Felton always has decent squid, dont know why  :smt044

Ah, could be  :smt002  But last time I was there, pretty disappointed in their bait selection.  I need to try buying some an Asian grocery sometime  :smt003

Will be at the Further Festival on Sat....Rain or shine  :smt044

I plan to buy a radio before heading out on Sunday. It'll be tuned to
Ch. 69.

I may show up if WAF is still good. Been fishing a lot lately so I'm not holding my breath.

Looks like I'm probably going to get rained on, but I'm still going.

Called up Monterey Fish Market in Berkeley. They've got fresh whole squid for $2.50/lb. Sweet...

Got myself a radio. I'll be tuned to ch 69.

Looked at the updated weather forecast and I'm staying in bed. Rain is one thing but T-Storms is a deal breaker. Good luck guys.

Yeah, I saw the t-storm forecast... Weather guys have called for thunderstorms numerous times this year,  but they don't seem to be materializing. I'm gonna play it by ear.

I'm still going to bet that Sunday will be doable.   :smt002  It will be cold, but I doubt there will be much precip in the SC area, as they are forecasting mostly for the north, east and sierras for this couple of fronts.  Just keep an eye on it  :smt004

I'm determined... They are calling for the thunder in the afternoon. My plan is to be eating grilled halibut by the afternoon, not floating around in the rain.
