Hi Guys,
So my trade in the classified section for a kayak did not work and I can't wait any longer.  So I've been shopping around and will probably purchase a new trident 15 from Adventure Sports this afternoon.  I'm debating which color to get.  I really like the camo one because I also duck hunt, but I also really like the idea of having a bright yellow boat so other boaters see me better.  I'm kind of torn.... Thoughts?

thanks,
joe

I'll admit I am not a duck hunter, but I've fished with a number of folks who paddle olive green or blue or gray kayaks, and I can say for certain that those colors vanish on the ocean.

Orange, yellow, red, or lime green are all much easier to spot. I agree with Cameron, if it is possible I'd go for a bright color kayak and see if it could be covered by a removable camo wrap for your hunting application.

I could not decide either so I got sunrise with three most visible colors. :-)    But they all paddle the same so I'm sure you will be happy with sand

Hey Joe - I've always preferred the brighter colors so as to be more visible to powerboats when on the ocean, Bay and lakes.  I have a yellow P-15 and orange T-15.  I don't hunt from them so that certainly is another consideration.  Good luck.

You can't go wrong with that combo. Nice yak, good color. Enjoy!

Welcome to the OK fleet Joe, I'm stoked that you're getting yourself a new water ride!! :)

I've got an olive T15, and I agree that brighter colors are safer especially in the open ocean. There are many times that my buddies lose sight of me because I blend in with the ocean. Whenever I'm fishing in the ocean with lotsa boat traffic around, I try to be extra cautious/aware of others who may not see me otw. Remeber to always be aware when paddling dark/camo yaks with lotsa traffic.

I love the Trident15 so much that I recently got myself a T13 w/ rudder  :smt007 Unfortunately, it's camo and not red lol. Still can't complain at all!! :D

Looking forward to meeting ya Joe, and hopefully I'll be able to see ya out at Albion :)

I'd go with the orange Joe. At the last bass tourney at Clear Lake, I had to go through
3 kayaks before I got to mine. :smt044 And that is even a Hobie Revo which not
really a lot of folks have quite yet versus a T15 OK. Congrats on your new ride.

Research shows that yellow is most visible on the ocean but also most
Likely to attract sharks AKA yum yum yellow. If you are also hunting, get the camo and an EPIRB.
