I was thinking of checking this one out http://www.harborfreight.com/1195-lb-capacity-48-inch-x-96-inch-heavy-duty-foldable-utility-trailer-with-12-inch-wheels-90154.html  seems like a good price, and it folds up!  also check w/SCAllen?  didn't he have a trailer he was going to get rid of that FM1's been lagging on helping with  :smt044

The tongue is kinda short. You would have to hang your yak pretty far off the back to clear the car,  or make the front longer.

I have a trailer that holds 4 kayaks. It started as a Harbor Freight trailer. I built it up with cross bars  and cables. Its a very solid trailer. I can send pics when I get home if your interested. I don't get off work until Fri morning though. The trailer is a folding trailer with stake sides so you can also hold all of your camping gear. I used it twice and then bought the Thule Xsporter so I could take the yaks and the camp trailer so I dont use it. Let me know if your interested and maybe we can work something out. I am in the Browns Valley area.

HF also has this one. long tounge and you'd just need to add a deck and some cross bars

Saw that too, but was worried it's too narrow to fit the X-F and Outback side by side.  If I were to put up some cross bars, can they extend beyond the width of the trailer, or will that cause any problems?  Guess the alternative is to stack em, but would rather not have too. :smt002

If I do get a trailer, it would be for the convenience of having the kayak already prepped and ready to go, just pull up and offload into the water and i'm gone  :smt002  So not sure J racks would work that well.

I have one of those... real short and low. Can drag tail of yak 12' or longer... I had to build a riser system for mine. Also if you cut the plywood to make it fold. Flops at freeway speeds. Uncut worked well...
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

yeah for sure. that is the plus of my in the truck bed method. I only use the lumber rack for long hauls or multi yak days.

I use a trailer similar to the HF. Think I bought it at Pay-n-Pack 25 years ago.

Just realized these pics are old. I've replaced 4 out of the 5 kayaks. Still have the P13.
I put saddles on all the cross bars after this was taken.
